spain on the road again, 2nd part

i tried but these are the only pictures i can find of gwyneth filming the reality tv series, spain on the road again (please see previous post). these aren't high quality but you get the idea of how chic she was.

she seems to be wearing so many stripes at that time (or were they all taken at the same day?), and most of her clothes were in black. i really don't mind because colorful clothes will probably clash with the vibrant background of spain and the glorious selection of food.

this is my favorite! i love the shades she's wearing here, i love the scarf! so casual yet so chic. i bet if i wear exactly the same pieces, i'd still look awful and lousy. this woman can do no wrong.

and last but not the least, it looks like a shirt dress she's wearing here. reminds me so much of an adorable scene from breakfast at tiffany's, where holly opens the door dressed only in a man's shirt. i love how gwyneth paired it with black shoes, it brought out the whole get-up. kind of what an underline does to a word.

here's one trivia: i was such a big fan of gwyneth in my college days that i begged my uncle to name his daughter after her. he did, and our little gwyneth certainly lived up to the name. she was one of the adorable flower girls at my wedding and i'm sure she will break so many hearts in a few years time.

spain on the road again

i'm dreaming of waking up one day to the smell of churros and hot chocolate!

i know i'm a little bit behind, but it took me a while to get a hold of the 13 episodes. i am absolutely enthralled by the beauty of spain, as seen from this reality series, spain on the road again. i am planning to buy the dvd and the accompanying book. the series stars mario batali and gwyneth paltrow, along with the spanish actress claudia bassols and the food writer mark bittman.

aside from the amazing scenery, there is of course the food! it seems they can cook everything with just olive oil and salt! it's a very inspiring show, even for people like me who can't seem to get anything right in the kitchen.

fashion-wise, gwyneth and claudia don't disappoint. all very simple and unglamorous, yet chic. we all know gwyneth. i've been trying to search for high-quality pictures in the net but no success. you really ought to watch the show. it's something i will never get tired of watching over and over again.

my style - friday #9

my sister may went to new york last year and got me this shirt. she gave it to me last christmas, along with two beat books from citylight bookstore in san francisco.

the shirt is really iconic! there were so many "i heart" designs that sprung a couple of years ago, but whenever i see an "i heart" print, the first thing that comes to mind is new york.

one day i hope to go there, but until then, this shirt and my sister's pictures and stories will suffice.

my style - office #16

my new year's resolution this year is to stay away from buying unnecessary things. and that includes clothes. i think i have enough basics in my closet now, and luckily i got some pretty blouses as christmas gifts and a few hand-me-downs from my sisters.

the one i'm wearing here is from my sister, ching. she doesn't like this blouse, i wonder why because i love it! i guess it's true that someone else's trash is another man's treasure. i have a similar blouse from zara but i love this one because of the sheer material and the length. it's long enough to stay tucked even if i fidget on my seat. which i often do at work.

the pearl earrings i'm wearing here is also a christmas gift from mama. i think she bought it from zamboanga when she was there on a seminar.

i really hope i can stay true to my resolution. it's important that i do. so far so good. i just need to be a little more creative in mixing and matching, and i should be fine.

my style - friday #8

the blouse i'm wearing here is supposed to be vanie's gift to ate bing (our cousin and morrison's yaya), but the size is too small for her so i took the liberty of switching it with something else of the same brand.

i haven't told my sister yet, but she will be reading this blog so this should do for a confession haha! so vans, that's what happened. i bought a shirt for ate bing but i told her the whole story hehe!

the friday i wore this, we had a filipino breakfast in the office. i was assigned to bring tuyo (dried fish), which we had plenty from cebu. it was a great friday!

my style - office #15

i bought a few freshwater-pearl necklace and restrung two to make a long one, which i'm wearing here. i'm making another which should be a little shorter. i saw an old episode of lipstick jungle and there was one scene where victory ford was wearing several strands of pearls against a white blouse. i thought it looked very elegant.

my friend abby and i went to a zara/mossimo dutti sale and i got this pair of red-hot shoes for only 15 dollars. i got a couple more pairs, each for 15, and they are really big steals considering how fabulous and fierce and sturdy they look.

the return of the supers

my little sister asked me why i haven't posted for a long time. honestly, i've been so uninspired lately. too many bad news on TV and devoting some time on superficial things like fashion just feels like committing a sin.

anyway, i was clearing my files in my computer this afternoon and i saw these recent candids of claudia schiffer, which are too nice to just throw away. so i thought about posting them here. haven't you noticed, the supermodels are once again on the scene? and i'm loving all the candids that have surfaced.

here, claudia dresses so elegantly as she picks up her children from school. i hope one day i'll show up at my son's school looking at least 1/10th of her, my son will be very proud of me.

on this one, she's dressing a little more casually. i think it's the shades though that make the overall look. or the purse.

and i'm posting this third pic, because i bought my sister vanie a similar vest for christmas and this will serve as an inspiration for a look.

i hope i can do at least one more post before we go home to manila for christmas. if it's not something fashion-related, at least just a post to wish you all a happy holidays. i have to make sure.
